Lead time and Incoterms
An eight-week program is not eight weeks of manufacturing. Knowing where the time actually goes is what makes a schedule hold.
On a custom tooled program, week one is analysis, week two is artwork approval, week four is physical samples and week eight is commercial production. Approvals, not machines, are usually what slips.
